If you didn't know, Rick Ross' new album Trilla dropped yesterday. I haven't listened to much of the album yet, but it's bound to have some bangin tracks. I heard a sample of his song, All I Have In This World (Featuring Mannie Fresh), and honestly it just sounds really ghetto (in a good way). Since I don't have the album yet I will post his single Speedin' (Featuring R. Kelly). This song has been out for a while now, but everyone loves Kells so I'm pretty sure everyone will be happy about this. Go get the album if you have a chance... BOSS!

BRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAT: The Anthem

Recently I have rediscovered Pitbull's November 2007 Release, The Boatlift. I'm a big fan but I just listened to the first single, Go Girl, a million times and then moved on. The second single off the album, The Anthem, has turned into the official preemptive summer jam for 2008. Lil Jon spiced up the Merengue-house banger, Calabrina, and Pitbull drops his trade mark Spanglish nastiness. Mr. 305 tears it up when he starts rapping over kitschy beats. Earlier this year DJ Laz put out that Benny Benassi sampled Move Shake Drop with him on it, allowing Vatos everywhere to cruise to the sweet sounds of cheesy Italian house music. Top 5 Basketball Music Videos

A bunch of us were sitting down this weekend watching MTV Jams. After a fuck load of T-pain, Lil Mama, and some more T-pain, we caught the No Limit classic; Make Um Say Uhh. Let's just say that shit is fucking crazy. The giant gold No Limit tank rolls in and all hell breaks loose. Then that ape starts throwing down fantasy dunks. We'll... naturally, the conversation progressed to the greatest basketball music videos of all time. Snoop's Back

Wow, talk about Snoop making a complete 180 from his first single Sensual Eruption (Sensual Seduction) where he sings throughout the entire track. Life of Tha Party (Featuring Mistah F.A.B. & Too $hort) is an old-school gangsta Snoop track and it creates hope that his new album Ego Trippin won't be completely horrible. The track sounds like it could've been on Tha Last Meal album with a catchy hook. Hopefully this track will give Too $hort and Mistah F.A.B. the national recognition that they deserve. After hearing a crap track with Snoop trying to sing it's nice to see him stick to the basics.

More Nitti Beats

Nitti's new album, Ghettoville, is planning to drop sometime in the next few months. It has been self-proclaimed to have as big of an impact as Dre's, The Chronic did ten years ago. The single Papah Boy, starts off with an eerie Sound of Music sample. It's definitely not Julie Andrews voice (what would the clearance rights cost on that!?), but does the job. The synth on the track is fat and almost overpowers Nitti's voice during his verse while a simple clap track ties it all together. Scrilla and Midnight don't add much to the structure and make the song fall off during the end, (i.e. a seven minute Three 6 Mafia remix), but at 4 minutes long it's bearable. It's a killer song to destroy your car stereo with.

SPECIAL ALERT: BEAVERS SMARTER THAN DOLPHINS

Recently scientists have performed various studies to prove that the beaver is more intelligent than the dolphin. Numerous experiments have shown that on average beavers are ten times more responsive to simple commands than dolphins, and show greater aptitude in performing the tasks. In the case of complex cognitive tasks, beavers also showed a greater ability to problem solve and react to difficult situations. When I interviewed my esteemed colleague from Harvard University, Dr. Richard Montgomery Chesterfield, he stated that he had hypothesized that beavers were more intelligent many years ago. When asked why he had this to say:

Beavers display the ability to act as a group to achieve a common goal. By observing their behavior while building and maintaining dams it was obvious that they used a high level of cognition. The dams do not only serve as a means of shelter, but also are used to create and environment where they can thrive and increase their survival rate. The Dolphin however, is the jackass of the sea, they are used for our entertainment like clowns in a circus. I have never witnessed a dolphin perform a task that a dog couldn't. Also dolphins are just really queer and beavers can fuck your shit up.

Dr. Chesterfield has provided us with the necessary information to prove the beaver's dominance over the dolphin, and it seems that we can finally put this debate to rest.

It's That Hyphy Shit!

After years of struggling to make it onto the scene, California rapper 40 Glocc was signed by longtime friends Mobb Deep. Mobb Deep was given their own label, Infamous, after signing with G-Unit and they were quick to give 40 a record deal. Going back to his California roots, 40 Glocc recorded So Hyphy for his 2007 album That New N***a (you know N word). This track couldn't be more of a banger! It's got a catchy repetitive rhythm with the typical bass you'd expect from any Bay beat. Play this song at a party and I guarantee something naz will go down.

The Platyipus: Austraila's Beaver?

The Platypus (Ornithorhynchus anatinus), a semi-aquatic monotreme that is specific to Eastern Australia and Tasmania. It is the sole member of the Ornithorhynchiade family known in existence. Its billed mouth and beaver like tail have been proposed by the zoological community to be " fucking crazy". Here at the University of Colorado we have been studying the freak animal for some time now. Attempts to sequence the animals genes have been a total failure due to its satanic DNA. Hopefully one day we can eradicate the beast and leave only REAL beavers to rule.

Prehistoric beavers

Preliminary evidence suggests that prehistoric beavers stood nearly 10 feet tall and weighed more than half a ton. Scientists utilized recombinative DNA analysis and fossil records to estimate the prehistoric beast's size. It is assumed that like present day beavers, the massive beavers were herbivorous. Despite this, the beavers probably used their two-foot long teeth to kill smaller animals for fun. They may have also used their tails to fuck up any animal that tried to fuck with their dam. The size of the dams relative to the beavers' size was the same--meaning that prehistoric beaver dams were the size of present day man-made dams. Ergo, any river or stream that attempted to push through the dams were essentially fucked.

This evidence shows that beavers commanded both wildlife and insentient features of their ecosystem, thereby proving that they were and still are truly the champions of nature.

A Banger To Ride To

There's nothing quite like getting into your scraper on a sunny day and just blasting a banger track with the windows down. Not a song that you'd want to dance to, but one that you would lean your seat back to and try to look hard. After a year of gimmicky, goofy rap we're finally getting a chance to relive those glory days again. Michigan's own Bake Up Boyz give some hope into bringing back some ghetto to the game. The single, Guccis On My Feet, off their Spring 2008 album, Fresh Out Da Kitchen, is an old school street banger that mixes being ghetto and flossed out at the same time. The bass heavy beat is perfect to make your car rattle down the street and the lyrics are somewhat reminiscent of the late 90s Cash Money songs. The only problem with the song is that I still don't understand the obsession with Gucci. In my mind it's just a brand made for Chavs who can't dance and just creep in the back of a club. Another track off the album is, Now I Can Do That (Featuring Jim Jones). Sadly, Jim Jones has the innate ability to kill any new group, but hopefully the Bake Up Boyz can survive the Jim Jones Effect and put out a hot album, which drops Spring 2008.

Nitti, the brains behind such suburban bangers as "It's Going Down", stuck to his two key, trap-star-synth format to produce "Add Me Up". It's not doing anything new or mind blowing, but sticks to dirty south conventions to make it a killer track. I'm so sick of over produced crap. Fuck layered guitars and epic brass arrangements by the likes of Just Blaze and Scott Storch rip off's. Keep it simple with a simple clap track and ridiculous hooks. Play maker motherfuckers!

New Mike Jones... WHO?

First off this song is just a banger. Mike Jones is back in the game after a semi weak EP, American Dream, released a few months ago. Hurricane Chris dropped a weak slow-jam, but he is featured on this track, and he is hotter than ever!!! With a relatively up-tempo beat Jones is able to display his true rapping talent. Army and I have been bangin this one in our rides all month. After hearing this track, I don't think anyone will ever ask Mike Jones who again!!!
